Dear expert.

                  Am in an archiving project i want to know about Residence time  

Example

             our client want to archive data in the year from 2006 to 2010 in this case   what  residence time  i need to give for Archiving object  SD_VBAK.

If you press F1 on that field (in t.code VORA) it is self explanatory. The description reads as follows        "The number of days which must elapse is taken to be the difference between the document date of the sales document and the date on which archiving is carried out."

So in your example, you can put, if today's date as archive date, then subtract this with first day of 2010 and test.
