What is the use of SOAP Action in Soap Communication Channel?

                What is the use of soap action in soap receiver communication channel? is it mandatory parameter?

No

A web service can have than one operation like calculator WS (operations: add, subtract, multiple and divide)

So, Soap action identifies which operation you want to execute on that web service
