Normal Duration/Duration of activity

Hi,

I created an activity with worj 50 Hrs, and normal duration (in the internal tab for activity) as 5 days, system automatically populates DURATION of the activity as 5 days in the date tab.

But now if i confirm the activity for say 1 day, system automatically updated the duration in the DATE TAB to 4 days, but normal duration remains 5 days.

Any idea why is system behaving this way and how can we correct this??

Any solution to this problem.

I want after any activity is partiallu nconfirmed in the next scheduling run system should not update the Duration in the date tab of activity.

Will really appreciate a quick response.
