Different Quality Parameter for different Material

Hi All,

This might be a commonly asked question, but I am not able to find the exact answer as I might be missing the exact phrase to find it. I am totally new to QM (except things required for MM).

Requirement is: We have different materials say cable, battery, switch, glass, etc.. Now, for each material, we need to set different parameter to analyse the Quality Inspection of the material. i.e for Cable, we have different parameter, for battery we have different like wise.

Please let me know how to set this up in SAP/If duplicate question, please direct me to the right path.

Thanks for the replies. To be very honest, I have never touched QM, so I am looking for exact steps what to follow. Hope I get it....

Hi,

Following Master Data require for QM:-

1. Activate Inspection type in Material Master by using Tcode MM02 / QA08

2. Create Master Inspection Characteristic : QS21

    2 Types of MIC's

       i. Quantitative Chara.: e.g. Define Numeric Data

       ii. Qualitative Chara. : e.g. Define Character like Colour etc.

3. Create Inspection Method : QS31

4. Create Sampling Scheme : QDP1

5. Create Sampling Procedure :QDV1

6. Create Sampling Drawing Procedure :QPV2

7. Then Create Inspection Plan : QP01

1st try following Steps for Procurement.

Steps:-

1. Create Purchase Order : ME21n & release : ME29N

2. Do GR against PO : MIGO

3. While GRN, Inspection lot generates automatically

4. Result Recording : QA32/ QE51n

5. Usage Decision & Stock Posting: QA32/ QA12

Hi,

Different material always has different specifications, u need to create the master data in QM first .

QS21- MIC"s (Parameters)

QS31-inspection Method

QDv1-samplinfg procedure

QP01- quality plan

then execute your posting against GR

System triggers lot for result recording against material w.r.t its parameters assigned in inspection plan.

I'd like to explain SAP terminology for your question.

Quality parameter = Inspection characteristic

Different materials with different parameter = Inspection plan

You will maintain the inspection plan for each material / each plant.

You will define each inspection characteristics into each inspection plan.

          We have to maintain Inspection plans for where material by using T.code:QP01,
