MSSQL log file size growth is increasing fast

Hi ALL,

I have installed the solution manager 7.1 SP05 with MSSQL 2008R2.

I am new to MSSQL database. My problem is solution manager database size is 165 GB in that Log file is 105 GB.

Log file size is increasing fast.

Could you Please let me know whether Log file to be restricted size or it should be in unrestricted growth.

Hi,

yes, you can restrict the log file growth by going to MSSQL server manager studio -> Your database "SID" -> RIght click -> Properties -> File.

Go to log file and click on the button on Autogrowth tab. From there, you can limit the max size growth.

Apart from that, you can just search "mssql log file management" on SDN or sapservicemarketplace for more info.
