Hi,
In another life, I was able to connect a BW system running on Windows/Oracle to an non-SAP MS-SQL database by installing dbmssslib.dll in the kernel directory and configuring DBCON.
In my "new" life, I work with AIX and DB2. There are no MS-SQL kernel component on AIX... So, this solution does not work.
Has anyone been successful in using BW on AIX to connect to a non-SAP Ms-SQL database?
thanks
You may try to deploy additional dialog instance on windows and perform required actions on this instance only (read Note 178949 - MSSQL: Database MultiConnect with EXEC SQL). Or if your have java instance on your BW system check Note 907733 - Additional JDBC DataSources in SAP Java Application Server and Note 939811 - MSS: JDBC DataSources in the SAP Java Application Server
