SLD Jobs

Former Member

Hi,

We have an issue wherein the SAP_SLD_DATA_COLLECT jobs take ages to complete...

SM50 shows Waiting for Gateway..SMGW shows status as Initializing..

They do finish successfully eventually...

SLDCHECK & related SLD & Gateway RFC's are all working fine.

When the system started, job SAP_SLD_DATA_COLLECT_STARTUP did not finish successfully..

Could this be the reason why the SAP_SLD_DATA_COLLECT jobs are taking hours...earlier they used to complete in seconds.

We're on kernel 7.20..Netweaver 7.01...

Please advise..

Thank you.

When the system started, job SAP_SLD_DATA_COLLECT_STARTUP did not finish successfully..

can you provide the spool output?

Hi Henry,

The STARTUP job got canceled coz the system got shutdown while the job was running..

There's no spool...

Also, SM50 shows the job SAP_SLD_DATA_COLLECT being stuck "On hold" RFC for program  _SLD_APPL_SERV..

The thing is it does complete successfully (all RFC's are working fine etc..) & we have no other SLD related issues whatsoever..

The only problem is the huge amount of time taken

I'm yet to try Vipin's suggestions too...

Thank you !

Hi Saba,

Set up SQlL trace to monitor the job. That should give you an idea.

Hi All,

Thank you so much for your suggestions...

Unfortunately nothing's worked...

We seem to be seeing this issue post kernel 7.20 upgrade on clustered environments.

Since the sld* files are housed under the Hostagent...would a hostagent upgrade do the trick..

We're currently on patch 102 for SAPHOSTAGENT...

Please advise...

Thank you.

Just a small suggetion, goto SM37 and check the status of the long running job.

SM37 --> Job --> check status.

Thanks...but no luck..

Another thing is we're seeing this mainly on clustered systems...

I've even checked for the rfc* files like rfcsec etc...n all are in place..

(The SLD Startup job too has completed fine post another restart)...

Thank you.

Hi All,

We finally got this sorted out

The issue was with the rfcexec file...

This had been retained from the old kernel in /sapmnt/<SID>/exe...but hadn't been automatically copied over to the instance specific directory..

7.20 does not ship rfcexec anymore...(it can either be retained from the old kernel or newly installed using SAP Netweaver SDK).

Once we copied it over manually to the instance specific directory, RFC: SERVER_EXEC started working fine (post 7.20 it used to timeout) & the SLD jobs started completing in seconds

There's also Note 1264892 which may help...

Thank you.

Hi Saba,

Check the value of GatewayHost/GatewayService in Rz70 transaction. This value should be same at

SLD UI -> Administration -> Profile -> Section= datasupplier -> Parameters =GatewayHost/GatewayService).

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Saba,

In Administartion you have a tab  Profile , click on profie, select datasupplier in section field and check the value of GatewayHost/GatewayService parameter. It should be same that you define in Rz70 transaction for these two parameter.

Thanks and Regards,

Vipin

Ok..thanks..looked harder this time..found it under Details...

The only difference is that under RZ70 its the FQDN..whereas under SLD UI, its just the hostname..

Thank you.

Please use FQDN in SLD UI also and check whether problem still persist.
