SNP bulk and SKU Pl Orders issue

Former Member

Hello,

here is the case:

We are planning bulk and SKUs for production plan in SNP optimiser using discretization. As currently we have maintain lot size for SKUs as lot for lot and fixed for bulks we are facing issue with the number of POs. illustration is as follow:

bulk : B     fixed size: 4500 L

SKU: S     lot for lot

S is made from B.

demand for sku suppose 45000 L on particular day and SNP plans the same. SNP will plan 10 batches for bulk as batch size is 4500 L. so number of Pl orders will be 10. but for SKU SNP gives only one Pl order of 45000 L. but we want 10 Pl orders for SKU also.

in short, max SKU Pl order quantity for a particular Pl Orde should be equal to the batch size of bulk. here it is 4500. so the 10 Pl orders will be created in this case for SKU. if the demand is less then it should give SKU pl order quantity equal to demand.

Regards,

Ashok

Hi,

Please set the maximum lot size field at your SKU level as 4500L - that is the lot size of the bulk.

So, when there is a demand for, say 8000 L, system will create 2 planned orders one for 4500 L and another one 3500.

I hope this will solve your issue.

Hi Ashok,

The quantity created on SKU is influenced by the lot size setting on SKU, not the lot size on bulk. In your example the lot size setting is lot-for-lot, so the created order quantity will be 45000 if your demand is 45000. This is correct behavior. If you want max SKU Pl order quantity is equal to the batch size of bulk, then you should set max lot size = 4500 for SKU.
