Hi,
Pls help me in mapping the scenario.
PP department completes operations and enters their
observation like length, width, depth of cut etc in a specific sheet of paper. In
the same form, quality inspector enters their enters observations and then
takes decision whether ok or not ok.
How to get two places to enter observations, one for PP and
another for QM?

You Can try this-
You maintained Inspection Type 03 & 04 in Material Master.
For Production People : Maintained MIC's for last Operation in Routing.
So that they can do Result Recording.
For Quality People: Maintained same MIC's in Inspection Plan.
So that they can do Result Recording & UD.

For 03 inspection type u have to maintain MiC's in routing operation level with required Control key & for 04 inspection type u have to maintain inspection plan for quality inspection.

In short create two Operation one for PP & other for QM.Maintain the relevant MIC's in the both operations.

In Master recipe, create Process Instructions for the individual operations where you are required to enter the parameters like length, width, etc.Assign characteristics to these operations.
To record the QM parameters change the control key to QM for the operation & assign the MIC's to the operation.

Thanks for your reply. But I am working on Production orders discreet and not PPPI.
There are for ex. 4 operations in a production order. After confirmation of production order for last operation, PP wants to enter their observations and then Quality wants to enter their observations.I am using 03 or 04 inspection type, in the inspection lot thus created will have only one place where results recordig can be entered!!
Also a custom layout should get printed with data what PP has entered as their observations. When Quality enters their observations and the same layout is prnited again, both PP and QM data should be printed with some extra remarks if any.
