Progess Analysis Overview Reports

Former Member

We are using the CJ20N transaction, progress tab, in order to update the percentage of completion plan of our project.  And we are using CNPAWB - Progress Analysis Workbench transaction to update the actual percentage of completion.

When we perform the transaction CN5E to obtain the Progress Analysis Overview, the system is showing in the report all the POC values in zero; although the values are registered on the table COSR.

Anyone know why the CN5E report is not showing the POC values?

And how could we obtain the CN5E report in object currency, not in the Controlling Area currency?

Hi P Ferndez,

hope you had run CNE1 before CNE5 to update the value.

Also reconstruct PS data base (CJEN) and check.

Also, you check if you have selected the project version correctly. Path:

Project System -> Progress -> Progress Analysis -> Maintain Progress Version

There you have to select the relevant Progress Version and CO Area. In the section 'Earned Value' you can change the setting for the EV Basis.

POC values can also be checked via transaction CNSE5 (be sure to use the correct Progress Version) or directly on the database table COSR (value type 'P1' for planned POC and 'P2' for actual POC). The values in COSR are delta values!

Currency:

Unfortunately, I do think you can change the currency in CNE5.

Like you, I could not find any options in the PS info sys. configuration, so I believe your only option is to create a report painter report and select the object currency fields for display.

Hope it helps..

Hi Ankur, thanx for your time, actually all the steps you describe where done (exept running the CJEN which we just did), the problem remains, for some reason im still not able to update the POC values.

Hi Pelayo,

The progress values are stored in table COSB as a cost element defined  in the Customizing of the progress analysis. The system reads them from  the RPSCO for the analysis in Transaction CNE5. Since the values are  stored in this table under value categories, you must assign the cost  elements to the value categories. If the assignment is incorrect or does not exist, no values are displayed in Transaction CNE5.
For the cost element of the progress values, an assignment for a value  category exists which should not be updated in the project information database (field 'Suppress' is set).

Solution

Check whether the assignment of the (progress) cost elements is correct for the value categories.

  • In Customizing under Project System -> Information System -> Commercial  Project Reports -> Project Info Database, choose entry "Check  consistency of value category assignment" (Transaction CJVC). There enter a controlling area and and choose 'Execute'.

If you created no value category for (progress) cost element, proceed as follows:

  • In Customizing under Project System -> Costs -> Value categories, choose  entry "Maintain value categories" (Transaction: OPI1). Create a value  category there for every (progress) cost element with the 'costs' indicator.

You can assign the cost elements to the value categories.

  • In Customizing under Project System -> Costs -> Value categories, choose  entry "Assign Cost Elements to Value Categories" (Transaction: OPI2).  Press the 'New entries' button and enter a value category. Assign a (progress) cost element to this.
In this case, make sure that the 'Suppress' field is not set.

Now you should start to rebuild the RPSCO/RPSQT so that the update is carried out for values already calculated.

  • In Customizing under Project System -> Information System -> Commercial  Project Reports -> Project Info Database, choose entry "Rebuild project information database" (Transaction: CJEN).

Also, Please check SAP Note 153051 which  says "The percentage of completions are saved as statistical key figures in table COSR, for analysis in Transaction CNE5, they are read from table RPSQT. Since the values are saved as value categories in these tables, you must assign the statistical key figures to the value categories. If this is incorrect, no values are displayed in Transaction CNE5 " .

I hope that would take you to the root cause of the issue.

Regards

Ankur
