Hi Experts,

Is it logically correct to create a debit memo request with reference to Debit Memo ?

Should it be followed in SAP ? What are the impacts and what all can go wrong from Process perspective ? Please advise.

Thanks,

Himanshu.

Hi Lakshimpathi,

Thanks for your response.

No. The intend was to create a Debit memo request with reference to Debit Memo.

I checked the the copy control (Billing document to Sales Document in SPRO) for

L2(Debit Memo)--> DR (Debit Memo request), but couldnt find any such record.

So I believe it is not encouraged in SAP. Please help me in understanding it more.

Thanks,

Himanshu.

Yes you are correct.  Debit Memo Request will be created against F2 billing type which you can find in VTAF.

Hi,

If you want to create it you can, there is no any adverse effect, only in document flow table it will update

just make copy control settings VTAF - billing document to sales document.

Otherwise create fresh debit memo request >> debit memo

It's totally depends on your business requirement how you want to handle it.
