Automatic import of XSD in External definition with versions /history maintained -PI7.31

Hi

I have a requirement to Automatically Import the xsd from a third party tool into external definitions in ESR PI 7.31( With NWDS) , Would someone guide me through for any possible navigation for it

Also if there is a change to the XSD and  automatic reimport , Is there a way to maintain versioning under the external defintions  or any place to show the object history ?

Hi Anusha,

as far as i know there is no way for an automatic update of an external definition, at least no in standard.

An xsd is a technical description of an interface, it makes no sense to update it automaticly, because all your mappings / validations / conditions / proxies / and so on would not work anymore.

You can have versions of software components, not of single objects. A history has each PI object by default.
