SSO for SAPGUI on Windows and Java with AD

Hi,

  We have a requirement where-in we need to integrate SAPGUI on Windows and Java users with the Windows AD.  (server is ECC ABAP stack)

I find that for Windows users it is simple with the straight forward Kerberos security and SNC (straight forward I hope )

But does the same solution work for "SAPGUI for Java" users as well ?

These users are currently on Mac platform but are connected to the same Windows domain and at Windows level authenticate against the same AD.

Will the Kerberos SNC solution work for these users as well ?

Thanx for your replies and pointers to alternate solutions if any.

Regards

Mahadevan

Hi Mahadevan,

to my state of knowledge there is no SSO solution available within the SAP NetWeaver application server software package for SAP GUI for Java on a Mac.

The solution SAP NetWeaver Single Sign-On supports SAP GUI for Java on Mac with its Web client.

http://help.sap.com/nwsso10

--> secure login server

--> Secure Login Web Client

There is also a community on SAP NetWEaver Single Sign-On available: http://scn.sap.com/community/netweaver-sso

Furthermore there are partner solutions providing SSO for SAP.

Best Regards

Matthias

Thanx Mathhias,

   Is my assumption right that I can use the built-in solution(SNC) for SAPGUI for Windows.

I mean the one described in SAP Note 352295.

For Mac and SAPGUI and Java, I either look at SAP Netweaver SSO or any partner solutions. Is that correct ?

Hi Mahadevan,

if you are using SAP NetWeaver SSO for SAP GUI for Java I would recommend to use SAP NW SSO for your whole landscape (SAP GUI for Windows and SAP GUI for Java). Then you have also SSO for Web applicatons and SAP NetWeaver Business client and other capabilities. But please check if this makes sense for your company and your landscape.

SAP do not test if the solution described in 352295 is running in parallel with SAP NW SSO. In the SAP GUI for Java case I would expect that this is working.

I know that you cannot mix SSO for SAP GUI for Windows with the note 352295 and SAP NW SSO.

If you are interested in solutions from the SAP partner community you can find them here:
