Activating material ledger performance

Dear experts,

My functional consultants team want to activate the Material ledger on an ERP 6 EHP4 system, and I had a task to investigate the difference in sizing for new systems if it will be active since it affects performance so much.

The issue is that I could not find anything regarding activating Material ledger and it's effects on sizing, so please advice me how to act.
