Locking the GUI 7.20

Former Member

Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to lock the gui to users. We have the GUI 7.20 and while it's lovely to allow users to set the colours in systems, I would like to allow access in the SAP GUI configuration to this one aspect only for end users.

I have looked at the windows (7) registry and to be honest while making a few changes that lock the GUI completely, I have not had much success.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Hi Jude,

With 7.30 GUI which patch level do you recommend?

Kind regards,

Brendon

Hello Brendon,

Patch level 1 will be out soon, however, bug has just been reported in SWDD in patch 0 which probably won't make the inclusion into the build for patch 1.

I've just reported the bug now,so we'll have to see.

Regards,

Jude

Hi Jude,

Thank you for all your help! What is the bug you have reported? What affect if any does it have on users?

Hello Brendon,

The issue is with workflow creation in tcode SWDD.

If draging an icon from the step type to the undefined-double-click area, a dump occurs,

The workaround would be to instead double-click on the undefined-double-click area and select an action.

This worked for me.

Hello Brendon,

This is a new feature of 7.30 GUI where you can lock the GUI configuration more than you

could in 7.10/7.20.

Refer to the Gui Administration guide

http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-29257

However, you can still set a defult color to the sytems for 7.20

Refer to my wiki here:

http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/x/wAdXDw

But of course, the end user can change this at will.

Regards,

Jude
