with detour you can route the request based upon an attribute of the request (for example, SoD Violations Exist), this can happen at stage level
e.g. say you have role owners as approvers for the New/Change access request, and you allow them to have "approve inspite of risks" you can then set a detour to put a condition that if a request is approved and it has a SoD violation it can be route to a different stage rather than getting provisioned.
