Why is that two line items get generated for batch items in delivery ?

Hi,

Why is that two line items get generated for batch items in delivery ?

What i meant to ask was, If we book a batch-management-activated material of qty 1 in sales order , at the time of creating delivery document two line items will be appearing . Why does it happen ? What is logic behind having two line items as against one line item for these batch-management-activated items ?

Please clarify .
