SAP published (15.8.12): Support for Classic RFC Library Ends March 2016

What are the consequences regarding PI?

Do old PI systems need to be updated?

What does the author mean with "it is no longer possible to connect an external program with SAP Process Integration (PI) by using the PI RFC Adapter."?

Thanks for sharing your knowledge,

Udo

It's too early to discuss on this topic. Certainly SAP will provide an alternate/relevant solution for the same.

Hi Baskar,

thanks for your reply

>>>It's too early to discuss on this topic.

I m not sure about that: It makes no sense to recommend a customer a solution which will not be supported - may not work - after 3,5 years. SAP would not publish it if there is no relevance.

Regards,

Udo

it looks RFC Adapter base architecture going to change but they have not mentioned alternative to use RFC adapter in PI.

as per beloe statement RFC adapter no longer used???

What are the limitations of the new SAP NetWeaver RFC Lib?

It does not support communication between two external systems.  For example, it is no longer possible to connect an external program with SAP Process Integration (PI) by using the PI RFC Adapter
