Difference between BusinessObjects BI and BPC

Hi, all.

1. May I know what are the differences between BusinessObjects BI and BPC in terms of functionality ?

2. I know that BO BI and BPC can do reporting, but what are the differences between the way they generate reports?

3. Does BO BI use BW as the backend database ?

4. Is BO BI making use of BEX analyzer to retrieve data from BW ?

5. Is there any integration tools between BO BI and BPC ?

6. Can we do some calculations in BO BI using some languages like Script Logic in BPC ?

Hi Eddy,

BPC is basically a planning tool, wherein, the users can do their planning (financial, HR, profit center planning, etc). BI is just a toll to report on the data. BPC also has its own reporting and planning features, and is done through excel interface.

With respect to BI, probably, you can post the query in the relevant forum.
