Hi,
We are planning to upgrade our SAP server OS from RHEL 5.3 to 5.8.
Can this be done by a simple yum update on the OS level ?
Would there be any impact on the application or database ?
Any other factors that I should take into consideration before i do this update ?
FYI - the SAP servers have ECC 6.0 and PI 7.1 with Oracle 10.2.0.4 as the database. We have a distributed installation with apps and database on different servers.
Thanks
Cheryl

Yes just an os upgrade.
Please check

As RHEL5 is listed as supported in the PAM this means that any update
release of RHEL5, for example RHEL 5 Update 8 (RHEL 5.8), can be used as
well.
