Afaria 7 - iOS Inventory xml files not correct?

Former Member

Dear,

In Afaria 7 we are experiencing some weird "errors". We can enroll new iOS devices and everything looks quite OK (Channels did run, apps get pushed via mdm), but in the device list the following fields are not filled in:

  1. Client
  2. Model (here is IPHONE3,1 filled in...)

The strange thing is that when I inspect the device that the inventory is correctly done. I see the IMEI, UDID, Serial Number, the correct iOS version. Also the Hardware inventory and Software inventory are showing the correct data...

In the Server Log Following Errors appear:

  1. IMS0004: Inventory, Client Scan: An unrecognized client type was detected for client.
  2. IMS0013: Inventory, Client Scan: Error retrieving client info (Client xxx not found)
  3. IMS0013: Inventory, Client Scan: Error retrieving client info

On http://frontline.sybase.com I do not find any KB describing these Errors, the only one i find is KB7807, but this one is about IMS0011 and IMS0004 errors. And the IMS0011 errors are not appearing in our system so I guess this is not the same problem.

In the following folder (<ServerInstallPath>\Data\Channel\Content\InventoryManagerChannel\Inbox) I find the following (bad) file in folder XMLError:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

<InventoryInfo>

    <Device>

        <ClientCategory>-8</ClientCategory>

        <DeviceOS>iOS</DeviceOS>

        <AssignedID>id filled in</AssignedID>

        <iosUDID>same as AssignedID</iosUDID>

        <ClassRestrictions>Afaria</ClassRestrictions>

        <MissingTagDeletesData>y</MissingTagDeletesData>

        <iosJailbroken>0</iosJailbroken>

        <iosAfariaInstalled>1</iosAfariaInstalled>

        <iosAfariaVersion>6.60.5621.0</iosAfariaVersion>

        <iosLastClientConnect>9-5-2012 3:21:47 PM</iosLastClientConnect>

        <iosSyncPolicyDesc>Use Default Policy</iosSyncPolicyDesc>

        <iosLastConnect>9/5/2012 2:53:09 PM</iosLastConnect>

        <iosLastSMSSent>9/5/2012 12:52:30 PM</iosLastSMSSent>

        <iosMDM>1</iosMDM>

    </Device>

</InventoryInfo>

Anybody also has received this errors during the configuration and knows how to solve this or where I need to look?

Some details:

  • Version: Afaria 7 SP1 Hotfix4
  • Database: Microsoft SQL Server R2

Thanks in Advance!

Kind Regards,

Robin
