duplicating SQL database in same server

is there a way to duplicate my database to the same server?

You cannot duplicate it with the same SID (Database name) on the same host, has to be a different SID.

Backup/Restore to different SID.

Backup restore or alternatively, stop original system. Detach database, copy data and log files and attach the copied ones as a new SID and then use SAPINST to install Central Instance over it.
