Hello,
I come from a pure ABAP technical skill with the usual functional knowledge gained along the years of experience in diverse modules. Now I’m being moved to SRM 7.0, where at the beginning will give some technical support and later on will have to handle also the functional aspects.
I have been having a look at the different available books regarding this topic with both technical/functional aspects during a couple of weeks and I didn’t find very good ones as per the comments. I could find these two:
http://www.sap-press.com/products/The-Consultant%27s-Guide-to-SAP-SRM.html
This one not sure if useful for SRM 7.0, since I was said that the technical part changes a lot compared to SRM 5.0.
This one doesn’t have very good comments, but anyway I’m not sure, as per its index, that contains technical info enough.
I also checked the SAP documentation
I’d really appreciate any suggestion.
Thanks in advance.
Hi
The books mentioned by you are the good book in SRM functional side, there is no technical books in version SRM 5.0 (or) SRM 7.0
since you have told that you will be working in SRM 7.0 ,for Pure ABAP does not have much work in SRM..
SRM 7.0 works on Webdynpro technology so you should learn webdynpro concepts and in SRM it full of
BADI's,so learn about BADi's

Hi guys,
Thanks a lot for your helpful answers.
Should I understand then that for the functional aspects any of the books pointed out previously are ok? First one is based on SRM5.0, many differences with SRM7.0?
Thanks
Daniel

Following wiki is a good starting point. It has info on badis, common issues etc. http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SRM/SAP+SRM
If you start working on configurations, look into config guides on SMP.
Also following link has information on config required for SRM:
