I have very basic question. Which the specific module(s) of APO deal with master scheduling and replenishment planning/DRP processes?

I know PPDS deals with master scheduling but how about replenishment/ DRP ?

Andrew,

Not really sure about what those terms mean to you, so I will give a generic answer.

There are some functions that one might associate with Master Scheduling within Production Planning /Detailed Scheduling.  There are also some functions one might associate with Master Scheduling in Supply Network Planning.

There are some functions one might associate with replenishment planning within PP/DS.  There are also some functions associated with replenishment planning in SNP.

SAP has a submodule under Service Parts Planning called 'Distribution Requirements Planning'.  However, there are also functions associated with DRP within PP/DS and SNP.

The actual detailed requirements of the business are what determines the solution, and which module will best serve to meet the requirements.

DB,

This is a fantastic explanation. I got an idea. Let us consider SNP and PPDS. Can you please explain in short which functions demonstrate master scheduling and replenishment ?

Or how master scheduling plan (daily / weekly) is carried out in PPDS?

AT,

You haven't yet explained exactly what these terms mean to you.

I suggest you just review a high level overview of APO functionality.

APO PP - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_SCM700_ehp02/helpdata/en/c1/147a375f0dbc7fe10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm

APO SNP - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_SCM700_ehp02/helpdata/en/72/aafbc364f811d3b6380000e82de178/frameset.htm

APO SPP/DRP - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_SCM700_ehp02/helpdata/en/4d/9e3757c2e11162e10000000a42189b/frameset.htm

or you may be interested in SCM F & R, which is another part of SCM, but not part of APO

Then when you have a basic idea of what functionality APO planning offers, come back with specific questions about specific tasks, and not generalized planning functions.
