sap grc 5.3 webservices

hello all,

what does web services means in sap grc, does this mean http protocl which we are using to integrate cup to rar and erm. i meant to say URL link, like mitigation, risk analysis.....please define me also means of web services and how does it work..is it something else.....thanks
