Purpose of request on hold in GRC10

Hi,

does anyone know the exact functionality of the hold button to put a request on hold?

1) I understand if multiple approvers get a request in a stage, once one approver puts it on hold, the remaining approvers cannot approve anymore. Correct?

Is this the whole purpose?

2) Escalation is not affected by the hold status? Is there any way to prevent escalation while on hold?

3) Are the reminder emails stopped while the request is on hold?

Thanks,

Daniela

Hi Daniela,

As an Approver, you can put an access request on “hold” if you deem it necessary. Once

the request has a hold status, you can further investigate any SoD violations and/or apply

any mitigation controls to the request.

Hi Nandita,

yes but you could to that without changing the status to hold.

The question is - what changes technically with putting it on hold (the 3 questions). In 5.3 it was possible to stop the escalation, for example.

Thanks,
Daniela
