Dear Experts,
Could you suggest me a simple easy to learn and use Front end tool to consume the Analytical and calc view from HANA. My KPI are comparing the actual vs promised delivery dates, quality, prices by vendors. Please note that I have used BEx analyser for simple reporting with BI 7.0, can I use this with HANA also?
Thanks in advance!
Vittali
Hello,
probably most simple front end tool is MS Excel.. another alternative is any tool from SAP BusinessObjects BI family...

Hi Vittali,
As Rama mentioned, you can use still your BEX Analyzer to create BEx workbooks on top of HANA Views,if your BW system runs on HANA(BW on HANA case). In this case you have to convert these HANA Views and make it available for Query Designer to create queries. You can use RSDD_HM_PUBLISH tcode to do this. You can refer this blog for more info http://chrishoulder.wordpress.com/2012/04/28/sap-bw-transient-providers-based-on-sap-hana/
If your BW system not runs on HANA,but still you want explore HANA data,go for simple MS Excel as reporting client.
If you look for similar features which BEx Analyzer offers and want to create such workbooks on HANA, then go for Advanced Analysis for Office(AO) which has advanced capabilities compare to BEx Analyzer.

Hi Vittali,
To see HANA data quickly and easily without having to develop any middle connect layer like universes for WEBI you can use Excel or SAP Business Object Analysis. They are extremely easy to connect to an use. Obviously with Analysis you will need a BI user and pass.
1) Excel connection instructions to HANA can be found here
2) Analysis connection can be done by opening Analysis > inserting a data source > choosing the HANA view you want to review.
Hope this helps. Most of teh time testing is done with these two tools as they are both easy to connect to and for the front end user to understand.
Kind regards,
Danielle

Vittali: you can only use BEx if you are running your BW system on a HANA database. If you are not running your BW on HANA, you will have to model your solution in HANA and then use Excel or BO tools such as universe designer - webi or Crystal to create a report.
Hope this helps.

Rama
