Hello!

We would like to install and use TREX on VM (single host installation).

We would like to use TREX primarily for SAP ERR 6.0 EHP6 system.

Question

How many RAM and hard disk capacity do we need for this installation?

Thank you!

Hello Alex,
Trex on VM can be used for low-data-volume senarios.
Please go through  SAP Note 1303814 - TREX 7.1: Usage of TREX on Virtual Machines (VM)
before implementing Trex on VM.
As Ravi stated, Go through Inst guide for the H/w requirement details:-
Index directory:- 80 GN

Queue Directory (If you are using ):-

The queues require approximately three quarters of the disk space required by the indexes

Demo or test system: At least 2 GB

Production system: 8 GB, at least 4 GB per CPU

With two index servers per TREX instance: At least 4 CPUs

Cheers,

Vishal

Hello!

I need more precise hardware information.

We already installed once TREX on VM with 4 GB RAM and enough hard disk capacity.

By the integration of ERP system (tcode TREXADMIN) we got an error due RAM bottleneck.

Hi,

The information with TREX 7.1 on Virtual machine are all stated in the
note 1303814. There's no specific file for sizing rules up to now. Due to
performance reasons, use of virtual machine to install TREX is not
recommended.

I am guessing that you are integration TREX with ERP for E-recruiting.

16GB of RAM + Pagefile with 80GB Hard Drive should be a good VM for TREX.  For performance reasons, VMs are not recommended for TREX, use a physical server if possible.

Please take a look at the Installation Guide, it has all the information you need.

Taken from the installation Guide:

Hard Disk: minimum 80GB.

RAM/Processors: 4GB per CPU.
