Do we need to restart the server if we make any configuration changes?

Hi,

If we are making any changes in the configuration then as per my experience it either gets updated automatically or the user needs to logout and login to see the updates.Do we need to shutdown the server and restart it to see the updated configuration in running plant?

Does anybody has any documentation conforming the same?

I would say that parameters in configtool, which you set according to installation guide, require restart only.

If you change something in SAP ME, no need of restart.

For the case of changing user group permissions or structure of activity groups, then you need a logout.

Once restart is not required, you will not find "Restart is not required" in the documention.
