Default product category is appearing during the creation of shopping cart.

Dear Experts

We are having the following SRM versions and Portal

SRM 7.01 and EP 7.3.

We are getting the default product category when creating the shopping cart (when selecting the Describe what you need link). In the SRM backend the following values are selected under the product categories.

In PPOMA_BBP (org structure) for the root element the value * has been maintained under the extended attribute column.

We have also integrated MDM catalog in the shopping cart selection.

After selecting the corresponding product from the MDM catalog, we don’t see the selected product category from MDM Catalogue, instead of that the default value of product category from SRM is appearing in the ordered item list.

Please let me know, how to fix this issue.

Is there any BADI to remove the default Product Category category?

We used BBP_Catalog_tranfer badi for customer enhancement but not related to Product Categories.

Additionally Matgroup  in Catalog  is mapped to Productgroup-Mat Group Code.

Hi,

in the extended attributes check if you have the correct backend system maintained for the allowed product categories. It is not possible to have no product category assigned as default as far as I know.

Check SLG1 for messages during transfer. If no product category can be found the message 'standard product category of user is used'.

Please check the "Default Setting" link in the shopping cart header.

The product category default is maintained there. You can change the default here.

When you transfer the item from MDM, the product category from MDM should overwrite the default product category.

If it is not able to overwrite there is mismatch of product category value in MDM and SRM product master (COMMPR01)record.

Please ensure both of them should be same.

Hi Malay,

1. There is no default set in the Shopping Cart Header so Product category by default should be blank.

2. All the Product Categories in MDM are transffered from SRM itself so they are one to one match.

Do  you feel I am missing something else othere than these ?
