SRM 7.0 without SAP Netweaver PI

Dear All,

Currently we are on SRM5.0 SP19 and are planning to upgrade to SRM7. We are using Extended Classic Senario with Self-Service Procurement, Stategic Sourcing and Contract Management with contract distribution to SRM MDM catalog via XML format as per standard system. Our Backend system is SAP ECC 6 EHP5.

We are in a discussion with our BASIS team whether PI is needed or if we can do without PI when we do the upgrade. All the posts and SAP documents we have read so far states that PI is mandatory to push contracts to the MDM catalog with XML format. We like to know what are the alternative solutions, if new configurations and setups are  requiered if we do not use PI.

Hello,

If you are looking for MDM to be used for catalogs then PI is mandatory. Other than that rest of the functionalaties like selfservice procurement, Strategic sourcing, sourcing cockpint functionalities can be carriedout without PI as well.

Also PI is needed if you planning for SRM/MM - SUS.

Lastly, if you are bringing any external requirements (PDP - Scenario) then if you don't want to use PI then you should not activate the business function LOG_MM_P2PSE_1 in ECC which was delivered in EHP 4 level.
