Configuring Outgoing E-Mail for Wikis

Hi All,

I'm configuring Outgoing E-Mail for Wikis into Portal 7.3 EHP1 SP7. The BASIS installed  KMC-WIKI add-on in version 7.3 SP7.

I'm following this steps:

1. In the wiki administration console, choose System -> Settings.

2. In the navigation pane, choose Email Server.

3. To configure outgoing e-mails (notifications), open the SMTP tab.

     3.1. In the Mail Host field, enter an IP address or a host name.

Well, when I enter IP address or host name in the Mail Host field; and I chose Save Change pushbutton, the system displays this message:

SMTP settings updated successfully.

But, when I try send test email, the system throws this error:

Sending the message failed. Please verify that your host and port settings are correct. (Message: Unknown SMTP host: svcslmmailr2.cempro.com)

I'm using the correct values for parameters requested, but the mail server used by de client is EXCHANGE and the HELP SAP says that the mail server must be SMTP is rigth??? I can't use mail server of type EXCHANGE is that my problem??

Please help me I'm so close to finish the realisation phase of the project.

Hello Dayana,

You are right. Unfortunately configure it using the Exchange server is not supported. You have to set it using the SMTP mail server.
