Article Extension and Listing

Can you please explain me the Difference between article extension and article listing.

Hi Sarti,

When an article is created in the system, it means that the master data for the article is valid for the entire client. Article extension refers to using the article for a particular company code under the client for procuring and selling. Article listing is the process by which articles are listed for stores/customers which will enable the Business to buy and sell through the store.

Hi Saritgopi,

After creation of an article you might need to use particular article for different Sales Area (Sales Org.+ Distribution channel + Division) then you have to extend the article to other sales area by required Views (Sales , Purchasing etc.) for this you need article extension. So article extension helps to extend these information. For article extension you can use mm01, mm50.

Article Listing is a process by which you will be able to allow particular article/group of article to particular site /group of site for selling and buying activity.
