Former Member

Hi,

We've just upgarded our GRC stack to SP18.

I've read a couple of Notes on GRC upgrade post installations..importing the CC file etc..

We have CUP & RAR in place..is it mandatory to perform any post steps after the SP upgrade..

Please advise.

Thank you.

Saba.

Please refer to SAP Note 1731581 as well as SAP Note 1174625 - Access Control 5.3 Java Support Pack Installation

Also, on SDN there is a presentation in the Key topics are for AC 5.3:

  • SAP GRC Access Control 5.3 - How To - Apply Support Packages in AC5.3 - Voice over (FLASH 7,500 KB)

The presentation explains the necessary steps for a successful installation of a Support Package in SAP GRC Access Control 5.3 and guides the reader through the procedure.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi Saba,

Are you talking about SAP note 1731581 - Files to upload after a support pack upgrade of GRC 5.3 components?

You may also check SAP note 1279776-Quick Reference Guide to perform post-installation.

Kind Regards,

Saksham

Thanks for the lovely document

I have a few doubts:

1. Is it necessary to undeploy the SCA files before deploying the new ones

2. Is it mandatory to patch the backend (ECC, APO etc..) systems with the latest Virsa patches when the GRC system is updated ?

Please advise...

Thank you.

Saba:

1.  No, you don't undeploy what you already have implemented

2.  YES, this is mandatory.  To make sure you have the right backend RTA SP levels, please review  SAP Note 1352498-Support Pack Numbering-GRC Access Control.

Also, when you are applying Support Packs, on the JAVA side you can just update the LATEST Support Pack/Patch, but on the ABAP side, you need to apply each individual RTA Suppport pack incrementally.

Thanks

Thank you !

We deployed without un-deploying (Note 1174625)..hence was worried.

So basically, the post install part (Note 1731581) & the backend SP's are mandatory...

Thanks,

-S.
