Error while upgrading SAP SCM 5.0 to SCM 7.0 EHp1 - NW 7.02 version

Hello Experts,

I am having an issue in the preprocessing phase during upgrading SAP SCM system to 7.0 Ehp1 version.

I had the below issue during the preprocessing phase "Severe error(s) occured in

phase MAIN_SHDCRE/EU_IMPORT1!".

error message:

ERROR: Found pattern "R3load: job completed" 0 times, but expected 1!

Analyze the log file for further error messages or program abort.

then i upgraded the R3load on the target

shadown instance

/usr/sap/SID/upg/abap/exe & /usr/sap/SID/upg/abap/newexe directories.

But while updating the dbsl it says file is busy... so i ignored it and repeated the phase  MAIN_SHDCRE/EU_IMPORT1 it passed.

Currently I am stuck at the phase "MAIN_SHDCRE/EU_IMPORT2!" looks like it is

the same error as before but don't know why it stuck again?

Experts i have seen the issue again & again but they all lead to upgrade R3load to the latest level which i already performed, but still the error persists

let me know if there is something which I need to take care of.

What is the operating system version and the database version . Also what is the kernel you are have downloaded 720 or 720_EXT and the patch level of the kernel. Is the system unicode or non-unicode ?

In the above , did you run R3trans -d from /usr/sap/SID/upg/abap/exe directory ?

Can you run it from any other directory and check if you get the issue ?

The OS version is AIX 6.1, DB : ORA 11.2

Kernel is 720 Non-unicode and the export DVD's are the following based on NW 7.0 EHp2 version.

Hello,

Based on the error, i have updated the kernel release 720 patch 300 on the new shadow instance.

/usr/sap/SID/upg/abap/exe & /usr/sap/SID/upg/abap/exenew directories.

Also manually updated the R3trans, R3load, tp & dbsl and made sure both the directories are maintained with the same level. then when i re-ran the " MAIN_SHDCRE/EU_IMPORT1!" and it is successful but then it stopped in the phase " MAIN_SHDCRE/EU_IMPORT2"

Issue resolved by resetting the whole upgrade and during the IMPORT2 phase.. updating the new Kernel 702 release patch 300 on the target directories. including the latest R3trans, tp, DBSL & R3load components.
