Default Site in SAP ME 6.0

Hi all,

I have created a Site in SAP ME as SITE_001. How can i make SITE_001 as the default site.

There is another site [MYSITE] which is set to default and i am not able to switch Sites.

ME Version:

Base 6.0.3.2 Counter 12

Build ID 144096

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hi Bakhtiyar, Alex,

As per the guide i assigned the default site to a user in NWA and when i login i could see SITE_001 was the default site, but i couldnt see any of the activities/links in the left frame. but there was a message, 'non of the activities are assigned...'

I logged on to ME as Administrator, i couldn't Choose the plant & user and assign roles to it.

Plant was fixed and no option to change, i could browse the user.

Pls advise.

Please log in as SITE_ADMIN - this is the user automatically created on site creation.

Your user (Administrator) must be assigned to user group on SITE_001.

In fact, are you sure that you have created site SITE_001? Usually, length of site cannot exceed 6 characters. So, if you didn't, go to Site Maintenance on site *, create site, go there using SITE_ADMIN, open User Maintenance, retrieve your user and assign it to proper user group.

I need to add ME data.

tried to create a custom data, entered Data field and Label, click on save i get the following error message. Any other updates required before i can start using?

Hi Alex,

I have a site named as SITE1, to which I have access, but as soon as I login, I could see *SITE as my default site.

I have followed the steps as per 'SAP ME 6.0 Security Guide-Authorization in SAP ME' (Page-20). But no result. Do I need to restart NW after creating the Default Site field in SAP NW and then assign default site to a user?

PFA. I have logged into NW as a administrator and made the changes.

Are you sure that a period at the end of "SAPME:DEFAULT SITE." is needed?

Hi,

You can setup default site in UME. To do that, you should setup SAPME:DEFAULT SITE as a custom attribute and after NW restart you should be able to set the values on user level.

However, this doesn't solve your problem of inability to switch site. Users should be able to do that if they are defined on other sites. Only SITE_ADMIN user is automatically created on site creation. In all other cases administrator should go to destination site, retrieve your user and assign it to user group.
