SAP TM Optimizer Error

Hello everybody,

we confirgured a SAP TM 8 System an during the optimizier process of the nwbc we get some error.

The following error msg were displayed:

Optimizer run failed (Details: No data available for this optimizer run --> see the picture)

Does anybody know this error msg?

Hi Michael,

It could possibly be a lot of things including no applicable Transportation Lanes.  Have you looked at the Optimizer Explanation tool?  Or RCCF_LOG in the TM R3 environment (same info, but much easier to see).  If you get an error message when trying either one of these, then you need to update your user parameters.  See /SCMTMS/EXP in the image below.  Once you have the ability to see what the optimizer is working with and how it is processing, you should be able to figure out the cause of the error message.  I would definitely focus on the Lanes as the most likely cause.

Hello Mike,

thanks for your reply. In the RCCF Log we didn't see any errors.
We've installed the optimizer service 7.03 today and connected it to our SAP TM System. Can it be, that the optimizer didn't work without any settings on the server side?

We've checked today all our Transportation Lane settings and the other settings out of the ConfigGuides but we didn't find any mistake.

If you did not have the optimizer service installed and connected, that would certainly be a problem.  😉

Give it another try after you are back up and running.  Also keep in mind that Transportation Lanes, Transshipment locations, and some other objects are not bi-directional.  A lane set to be A to B does not automagically work from B to A.

Hi,   no we've installed it today and here are some pics about our configuration. It still looks like it would work.    We can't find any mistake, the only error msg who is dispay is that the optimizer run failed.

Hi Michael,

The pics are not visible.  You may need to save them first as a separate file (pic1.jpg or some such) and then insert them from the file.

If you already solved the problem, please provide where the problem lay and what resolved it.

Hi Michael,

• Have you tried to do manual planning with the same four FUs and the expected Vehicle Resources?  See if that produces any errors.
• Can you scroll down in the message log when the first error message shows up to see if there are more details there?  Usually there are more comments suggesting what caused the failure.
• How do you have your Profile and Layout Sets configured for the Transportation Cockpit.  You may want to limit it to just a Selection Profile for Freight Units (first column) and Planning Profile (second column) to start until you have success with the optimizer planning.
• What do you have configured for each of the tabs of your Planning Profile?

Hi Mike,

• The manual planning of the freight units still works.
• We can't scroll down in the message log, only the error msg: Optimizer run failed is displayed.

You can see our Settings in the pictures. We configured the System with the ConfigGuides of SAP TM. For the NWBC Master Data and the Planing Profiles the ConfigGuides T63 and T65.

Is there maybe a version conflict with our SCM Optimizer? We have the SAP TM System 8.0 and the SCM Optimizer 7.03.
