Remaining Shelf life check at the time of goods issue

Dear Gurus,

I have one problem that when i am going to issue of goods with movement type 601, then system is not given me any

error message while goods is expiry in next 3 days.

For same material, if i do the goods receipt against purchase order then it will give the error message like shortfall of 03 days of material.

For this i have maintained below settings.

1) Remaining shelf life in material master is 10 days.

2) Maintained 01 against all movement type in OMJJ in which i want shortfall error message.

3) Also do the settings in OMJ5.

I am not so sure whether the message you are getting at the time of GR is because of shelf life expiry date or minimum safety stock. Based on goods receipt only further expiry date is calculated. The scenario works as follows as per my understanding. Check,

1. Have you maintained inspection interval in QM view of material master for this material?
2. Next inspection date and expiry date play a vital role here.
3. Let us assume Inspection interval is 7 days
4. Expiry period is 10 days
5. When you do goods receipt on 1st August, then system calculates following dates as per this logic
   1. Expiry date  = 1+10 = 11 August
   2. Next inspection date = 1+7 = 8 August
6. These dates get updated in batch master and ou can check these in MSC3N

Now you need to activate 09 inspection type and run QA07. If you run QA07 on ,

1. 8th or 9th Aug then system would move the material either to block or quality inspection
2. after expiry date - system changes the batch status to restricted
