Hello Everybody,
I am new in SAP PI and have a basic question related to communication channel. Please help.
If there are many file (type:txt, edifact) on specifc folder of NFS and one communication channel is configured which is polling for the file to the same directory with File Name parameter set to (*.*) .
So can you please suggest which file is poll first and if the First file is failed to receive then communication channel is again again try to get same file and other will remain there .Please answer.
Thanks

Hi Anant,
You will need to investigate who/what is creating the files, they are determining where the files are placed and what file naming convention is used. They would have to change the target path (or file naming convention) (i.e. this would be the same source path that you are polling from SAP PI) from their side to something unique for the type of data contained in the files. You could even get help from Basis to create a new directory/folder at OS level that you can use for this.

Hi Anant,
parameter set to (*.*) .
That filename pattern to poll for is not really helping you. You should probably try & set the pattern to poll for the files you actually need.
All the other items are configurable on the sender file channel you use:
- Sort Sequence (as suggested above - filename / date etc.)
- If you get an error on a file, you can move it into an error folder or directory.
