Hello Guys
We are having a lot of doubts regarding some changes in SMDADM user in Managed System, let me explain better
One of our customers changed the following parameters in their AIX System (Managed System)
/etc/security/user Direct login login= false
/etc/security/user Remote Login rlogin =false
/etc/ftpusers Restrict FTP access Id must exist in file
This parameters were changed in SMDADM user, login=false means nobody can telnet to this ID, Our customer disabled telnet & ssh access for security reasons
Our doubts is very simple but complicated in same time..Diagnostics functionality will be affected if SMDADM has assigned these parameters??
We are running Solution Manager 7.0 SP28
Introscope 8.2.2.0
Thanks for your answers
Regards
Mauricio
hi,
You are saying <SID>ADM your case SMDADM a OS user, is it?
if this case, it doesnt harm, anything your RCA and monitoring functionalities.
Since al these datas transfered to Solman already by SMD and SAP host agents.
but I wonder if you lock the smdadm user , hw did you restart your smd agent,
other activity like registering smd agent with other solution manager system,
Please check,
Thanks
Jansi

Hello Jansi thanks for your response
I'm not sure which user you are referring... but i think that you are doing reference to user that manage SAP and all stuff regarding sap installation and stat/stop tasks. In our case the SID of the system is W**
Could you help me to clarify please?
This post is referenced to SMDADM (DAAADM) This user is that manage the SAP host agent in the managed system
We are worry about Trace Analysis and all Diagnostics functionality
Just for add some details ... The user is not blocked and still active, the only thing was changed was that nobody can telnet or ssh
I appreciate your help
Regards
Mauricio
