upgrade ERP 6.0 NW7.01 EHP4 TO EHP5

Upgrading from EHP4 to EHP5 in a Linux-MaxDb environment, in the phase PREP_INIT/VERSCHK_INI I have this error in the SAPup_troubleticket.log file (and in the SAPEHPI gui):

SAPup broke during phase VERSCHK_INI in module PREP_INIT / Initialization

Error Message: Start Release configuration 'SAP_APPL=604,SAP_BASIS=701,SAP_BW=701' is not supported

Compare the release of your SAP system with the requirements listed in the documentation.

Hi,

I think you started SAPUP instead of SAPEHPI. You need to use SAPEHPI for EHP5 installation if you are upgrading from EHP4.

Hi Li Jan,

I believe you have  an ABAP only system. If so did you select ERP 6.0 system during MOPZ or did you select it along with NW701 (ERP 6.0/NW7.01) ? That is used in case of dual stack. May be that may not be a cause but it would be good to select ERP 6.0 only and then re-create stack.xml and then retry the upgrade.
