Hi,

  We want to access the SAP GUI For HTML from internet. What do we need? Do we need the SAP Web Dispatcher?

  Or, Do we need only ask to network administrator to insert the url in dns server?

Thank you.

Hi Denis,

We need to activate the couple of things in SAP Back-end system, it was depending on your versions of SAP.

For exaple if you are using ECC6.0 With EHP4

  • Go to T-Code SE80. Select Utilities-> settings
  • Select ITS tab. In the same tab, select “Publish” tab. Select the option -> “To Local Directory” and mention “INTERNAL” for directory and click “Enter”
  • In SE80, select "Internet Service", enter the Internet Service "WEBGUI" and click on display, Right click on WEBGUI, select "publish -> Complete Service"
  • Go to T-Code SICF. Press "Execute". In the following screen, traverse to the following path:
    • default_host -> sap -> public -> bc -> its
    • default_host -> sap -> bc -> GUI
    • default_host -> sap -> bc -> webdynpro
  • Activate above services
  • Inform to networking team to open the port 80<sysnr> (http), 443<sysnr> (https)
  • Network adminsitrator will insert the url and dns server name into etc folder or in group polices.

Thanks and Regards

Hi Pavan,

  Thanks for your reply.

  We already published and created the services necessarily for SAPGui for HTML.

Now, I'm asking to our to network administrator to make this adjusts.

Thanks,

Denis

Hi,

If you need to have the load distributed accross different application servers, you certainly need a webdispatcher! Also for security reasons it might be good to look at the web dispatcher. You can allow / disable access to specific paths to your SAP server.

More info: Help on SAP Web Dispatcher

Kind Regards,

Jeroen
