Base unit of measurement

Hi friends,

While creating material master my material type as FINISHED PRODUCT

for the automobiles I dont know the which value must be taken from the "unit of measurement" field

can any one plz give me an example on automobiles and suggest me, what values shall be taken for BASE UNIT OF MEASUREMENT, MATERIAL GROUP AND THE ALTERNATIVE UNIT OF MEASUREMENT

I just need to add that you can create any NEW unit of measurement - run t-code CUNI and create, say 'CAR' which means a car

Hi Kasi ,

Its depend on  the client requirement ,

Example if take a BMW they manufacture a CAR car may be base unit of measurement IN KG

And the sales unit IN Each

Material Group May be (Auto. accessories if its a component or Motor )
