the combination of MOP and PDS is possible, but you need to implement all rules in the MOP BAdI methods. Please address your requirements to SAP Custom Development.
There are companies who use the MOP during CTP to tell the system to create partial deliveries out of existing components.
The regular CTP will always create a new planned order for the full requirement amount at one delivery time. MOP can create partial deliveries based on the availability of a master component in a multilevel scenario. e.g. use up existing stock on the first production level for the first schedule line, use up existing stock on the second production level for the second scheduline then produce the remaining quantity up to the third production level with raw material procurement. So you can get partial deliveries with different delivery dates.
The same behavior canbe achieved with production planning heuristics.
MOP also has the feature to check for ATP allocations on components during an CTP check. Even if there is enough stock on hand the system creates a planned order if the sales order ATP allocation (customer) is not available. With this you can protect your component stock against first come first serve confirmation.
