Hi Experts,

I installed a TREX 7.1 revision 47 on windows 2008 R2 but Management Console and also Web Server from ISS SAP_TREX_00 are not created.

SapInst finished successfully.

Any Clue?

You should install TREX after having installed and configured IIS.

SAP_TREX_XX is created under IIS during the installation with SAPInst.

Regarding SAP MMC,

1.) go to Start --> Run --> mmc.

2.) Go to File --> Add/Remove Snap ins and see if SAP System Manager MMC is there.

If you don't see it, then download SAP MMC from Service Marketplace and do a repair installation.

Hi Ravi,

As I said, Installation completed successfully but sapinst did not create SAP_TREX_XX and also MMC.

I installed IIS but what do you mean about configure it?

Any clue?

Hi Jorge,

SAPInst will not create Virtual Directories and App Pool, if IIS is not installed and configured prior to SAP installation.  This is not a big deal, check out SAP Note 660764.

Looks like the note is locked by SAP.  Follow the link below, although this is for Windows 2008, it should give you an idea of how to configure it in 2003.

If SAPInst completed successfully, then TREX should be installed.  Go to your TREX directory and execute Trexadmin.exe and see if TREX opens up.

To create the MMC manually to your desktop, follow the steps I provided.

Hi Ravi,

I created SAPTREX_00 but TREXHTTPServer does not appear on the list.

Here is and example of TREX i have installed 3 months ago

Also there is a field about IP , hostname and port  when I created the server SAPTREX_00 manually... what should I put there?.

Regards.

This should be simple.  If you already have TREXHTTPServe installed on another TREX instance, then just replicate the changes to the new one.

IP, Host and Port should be of the server where TREX is installed.

You can always uninstall TREX and do a reinstallation.

Hi Ravi,

Issue is solved

- I created manually a website named SAP_TREX_00 with the following settings:

- port of httpserver: 30005.

- path of the website: /usr/sap/TRX/TRX00/exe

- application "TREXHttpServer"

- path of the application "TREXHttpServer":

/usr/sap/TRX/TRX00/exe/WebServer

User: sapservice(SID)

Ravi,

How I can add another instance... I want TREX to be DEV and QAS.

Regards.

There is no need to install TREX on every server.  You can have one TREX instance and then configure it with RFC to multiple SAP instances.
