NW CE 7.3 doesn't start

Hi all, I've just installed NW CE 7.3 trial on the virtual machine provided by SAP. Now I'm trying to start the instance using "SAP system start" shortcut but in the log I have the following messages:

...

log file: /sybase/CES/startdb.log

and in the mentioned log file:

...

Backupserver instance not available

Database not available

and nothing happens. What should I do?

Hi Stefano,

I also have faced this error. As you are aware, the installation is not exactly an installation but just extraction of the files on to the LINUX env. So this error comes when one or more of the files being extracted is corrupted (not sure what are the exact files). So what I did was delete the existing set up including the .vmdx file and start from scratch. This time, I have not changed from the screen or did any other work while installation. Once finished, everything was fine and up and running. Try this.

No, it isn't solved .

I've redownloaded and reinstalled the bloody thing three times now and I am always stuck here. The funny thing is that I managed to install everything right after it came out and then had to reinstall because the database didn't want to run..

ARE YOU SURE THAT THERE ISN'T A TIME BOMB OR SOME SUCH IN SYBASE???
