SUM 1.0 SP05 error during Solman 7.1 SP05 --> SP06

Gurus,

We have a Solman 7.1 system running SPS05.  We are trying to use the latest version of SUM (1.0 SP05) to go to the latest level of Solman support stack 06.

UNIX AIX 64 bit

Oracle 11g

Kernel EXT 720 #312

We have latest CR content

I am in the "Configuration" phase. And specfically getting an error in the PREP_INTEGRATION/GENBUFFER_PREPUT phase stating this:

   Severe error(s) occured in phase PREP_INTEGRATION/GENBUFFER_PREPUT!

Last error code set: Process /sapmedia/SSM/SUM/abap/exe/tp exited with 233, see '/sapmedia/SSM/SUM/abap/log/MEMPUTSTEP.ECO' for details

the MEMPUTSTEP.ECO states this:

meaning:

  SAP-System not installed properly (HEAD SYST)

I have checked the following and no help so far:

1680769 – SUM sp05

1713071 – SUM sp05 oracle

1736166 – solman sp06 stack corrections

Just to be clear, we are on the very latest release of solman, just before this stack came out this/last week.

I am on a single domain for STMS.  I am the domain controller and I don't send transport anywhere beyond this system.

Anyway....any help much appreciated.  I'd rather avoid opening a message if I can help it.

An update to this issue. tried running this from the command line and I get the same error.

/sapmedia/SSM/SUM/abap/exe/tp pf=/sapmedia/SSM/SUM/abap/var/DEFAULT.TPP showbuffer buffer=PREPUT.BUF -DR3UP=1

This is /sapmedia/SSM/SUM/abap/exe/tp version 380.03.89 (release 720, unicode enabled)

I suggest you run SE06 and do the post-installation actions choosing the option which suites you .

There is some inconsistency in your CTS configuration .

After you run the above , can you run the following

/sapmedia/SSM/SUM/abap/exe/tp connect <SID> pf=/sapmedia/SSM/SUM/abap/var/DEFAULT.TPP

please copy old tp and r3trans into exe and exenew and restart SUM.

That fixed it!  I went back to Kernel 720 EXT #212.

this error is a bug in the upgrade.

Any other version of tp (EXCEPTpatch 312 version 380.03.89.) will work...

Please use kernal provided in following path for Solman which solved my same issue

Support Packages and Patches - S" SAP SOLUTION MANAGER" SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.1" Entry by Component" Solution Manager ABAP Stack

Download Both Kernal part I and II

and replace in

exe and exenew of SUM

Could you please try changing the tp & R3trasn. Recently a bug was found in the tp which causes this issue. It might be possible that its same in you case.

please update the tp & R3trasn and try repeating the phase.
