We have upgraded our database from 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.2 to resolve hung jobs and followed the SAP notes to upgrade. When this did not help we were asked to update the client from 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.2 as well. We have followed the instructions in SAP note 998004 and the Central instance looks fine but the application servers still display Oracle Client 11.2.0.1 when we run genezi -v at the Windows command prompt.

It also displays 11.2.0.1 in the System:Kernel information of the DB client lib. screen under System > Status > Other kernel info.
Has anyone had this problem? SAP Support thinks the application servers displaying the older Oracle Client is the problem.

Can you copy the directory <drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\DVEBMGS<XX>\exe on the central instance to the directory <drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\D<XX>\ on the dialog instance . Make sure you backup the directory <drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\D<XX>\exe on the dialog instance . Then reboot the application server.
Check if that helps.
It seems the older client library is still loaded in the memory .

This worked. The only additional steps I had to take, were stop SAP services on application server, restart the Windows server, then backup and clear kernel directory. After that i copied the kernel from central instance and found that the Client was now 11.2.0.2.

Please provide more details about your sap system configuration: how many application servers you are using and their distribution on hosts. May be due to the fact that you does not replace all oracle clients?

We have 8 application servers and each one shows the same 11.2.0.1 Oracle Client so I am assuming this is a distribution from the central instance that is causing the problem. We had originally manually cleared the kernel on the application servers and installed. This week we are following SAP note 998004 and using the vbs script to remove the client. If still the same we will try copying the exe kernel files as Ratnajit suggests.
