Project budget restriction against cost elements and document types

Hi Experts,

Can budget restriction be omitted for certain cost elements or for posting based FI document types?

Hi Mike,

I guess you refer to avaliability control in PS. Yes. You can have exempt cot elements there.

See customizing: Project System -> Costs -> Budget -> Specify Except Cost Elements.

And you can have different tolerance limits depending on activity groups (e.g. financial accounting documents). See Customizing: Project System -> Costs -> Budget -> Define Tolerance Limits

Thanks for your reply. Yes cost element exclusion worked clearly. However, if possible I want to know the posibility of excluding FI posting which are done using specific document types.

Hi Dileepa,

I would not vouch for it (since my active days in PS are over) - but to my best knowledge there is no standard possibility for that.

I have also checked user exit SAPLBPFC, but at first glance it does not seem to give you the needed information to implement a logic basde on document type.

Oh ok, in that case I believe only option is to use OPTK and OPI2 to exculde FI posting through cost elements.
