hi,
I am learning APO and want to know which data will be called as master data and which data will be called as transaction data in APO. Whar are their significance ??
thanks
kumar
Hai Palnati,
I am a little ahead of you. Let me try to explain you. Master data is something that doesnot change Immediately. But your transaction data does. If you have a Product, Location, Capacity(resource in ECC0, they donot change over some time. You can load them and then work with transaction data. Like sales orders, planned orders etc.
see glossary for more details:
Master data: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/35/2cd77bd7705394e10000009b387c12/frameset.htm
Transaction data:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/35/2cd77bd7705394e10000009b387c12/frameset.htm
Hope this helps.

Hi Kumar,
Master data and transaction data definition remains same in APO as in SAP R/3 or ERP. So if you know what is master data and transaction data in SAP R/3 then you know in APO also. However there will be additional master data objects in APO like Transportation Lane, PPM (combination of BOM and routing) etc. but the basic definition remains the same.
Thanks,
Somnath
